Update on 50 Most Influential Christians in America, 2006

This just in: 14 of the 50 on the Church Report list of the most influential Christians in America are not regenerate Christians. At least according to Reformed Baptist blogger and CCM veteran Steve Camp:

According to my review of the list, 14 of the fifty listed by CR you couldn't even consider as truly regenerated.

Don't get me wrong: I think it's totally legitimate to assess the theological views of the listed. Does T.D. Jakes not believe in the Trinity, as Camp alleges? I don't know enough about Jakes to be sure. If he doesn't, it's a big deal and worthy of discussion. But the idea of assessing who's a real Christian and who's not, in an ultimate sense, frankly unsettles me.

Maybe Kumar should retitle his post: "36 Most Influential Christians in America." Or, maybe we should exercise caution before subjecting the eternal destinies of others to our "review of the list"...
