Considering Rushdoony and Dominionism
Much has been said over the past few months about Dominionism and the threat of a theocracy. Yet the vast majority of critics of Dominionism appear to know next to nothing about theology and Christianity.
A common bogey-man of the "Religious Right" is R.J. Rushdoony, founder of the Chalcedon Foundation. I am not a proponent of Dominionism/Reconstruction but have learned a bit about it from a friend. I read an interesting quote on the webpage of the Chalcedon Foundation this evening.
Is this what so many on the Left are afraid of? This doesn't sound like theocracy to me.

“No government in any form can make men Christians or truly obedient; this is the work of God's sovereign grace. Much less should civil government try to impose Biblical law on an unbelieving society. Biblical law cannot be imposed; it must be embraced.”
