Further erosion of free speech

My good friend Ted made an interesting comment the other day about campaign finance reform and FEC regulations against "political speech"

"Isn't it ironic that the First Amendment was primarily a defense for political speech yet political speech is the primary speech that we are now outlawing?"

Update: Let me recommend this outstanding interview on Tech Central Station that Nick Schultz did with FEC Commissioner Brad Smith. To the FEC I say, bring it on. You will NOT curtail my freedom of speech.
