Germans gripe: This Bud's not for us

I am generally a fan of globalization and free trade. But this business about Budweiser being the official beer of the World Cup in Germany is a travesty. This is akin to Yugo sponsoring the Super Bowl.
"For Germans, Bud tastes like watered-down beer. It's not beer," complained Heiko Hofrichter, 24, a graduate student from the city of Nuremberg.
Rarely have truer words been spoken. Bud is NOT beer. I think one of the great marketing campaigns of all time is the snow job that large companies like Miller and Anhauser-Busch have done to fool people into thinking that their product is beer.
